Blue / Green Meet Tomorrow

Parents of our Great Grand Lake Gators Swim Team!

The season is in full swing, and it has been great to see all of the smiling faces back in the water. I know from the practices this will be an amazing season. This is a lot of information but please READ IT ALL!

After weeks of practice and hard work by our swimmers, our Blue v. Green meet is finally here tomorrow!

PLEASE let Coach AJ know IMMEDIATELY ([email protected]) if you have declared your swimmer and now your child will not attend.

Know that this meet is critically important as it is your swimmer's only opportunity for a time trial. It also gives you valuable insight into our timing/scoring system, volunteer roles and meet simulation for your swimmer.

Events for Friday:

In an effort to shorten the meet on and the fact that we are only trying to get times for the regular season we have elected to do a modified meet schedule of events. There will be no relays tomorrow night.

The schedule for Friday:

4:00pm- Setup Crew arrival

4:30pm-Team Parents, Console Operator and Floaters arrive

5:00pm-SWIMMERS ARRIVE-go straight to your assigned tents

5:00-Concessions Arrive

5:15 Timers, Judges, Ribbons, Hospitality and remaining volunteers

5:20-Swimmers warm up

6:00 Start Time

Ten-minute break after Backstroke – This is when we will switch volunteer roles and take down crew starts breaking down tents. Note if no one comes to relieve you. You can not just leave your position; anyone leaving the position without checking in with Volunteer coordination will not be counted for the volunteer time. While the shifts have estimated times on them depending on the flow of the meet they could be longer or shorter.

Estimated finish time: 9:30 pm.

GATORAIDES:

Please bring your shirts and be ready to help with 6 & unders and 7-8s. (if you are a GatorAid and still need a shirt see Amy, Megan or Kevin for one)

Reminders:

A few reminders since it has been a while since we have had a meet!

The theme for the night is Blue/Green. A-L is Blue and M-Z is Green. Wear your color proudly and loudly!

Remind your swimmer that theyMUST stay in their tent! This is for safety purposes and to ensure that the meet runs on time. Their tent parent can help them if they need anything. If they come to where you are sitting, please send them back to their tent.

Pack a chair, water, snacks, sunscreen, goggle, caps, towel, entertainment (remember-you're responsible for your electronics) and money for concessions (we will take card, Zelle, or exact cash, no change, this year).

Don't forget your volunteer duties. You can check this by logging into the website and clicking on MY ACCOUNT. To avoid volunteer issues, please BE ON TIME and CHECK IN!

Be considerate of our Grand Lakes neighbors on the streets when you're parking at the meet. The square is one way to traffic with parking on the outside only, please obey the signage. Please do not park too close to the intersections. We will have an area to drop off but we will also have areas blocked off for the food trucks. Reminder that the parking lot will be reserved for coaches and board members ONLY.

Coaches, Parents and Guests:

  • Food trucks will arrive beginning at 5pm for setup and will leave at 9. Kim did a great job getting some great food.
    • YETI ICE COMPANY: https://yetiiceco.wordpress.com/
    • Donut NV: https://donutnv.com/
    • All Seasons Eats:https://www.allseasoneats.com/

It is VITAL that you declare your swimmers for the meets they will be attending. If you don't declare your swimmers for the meets THEY WILL NOT BE ON THE ROSTER. We will give you reminders, but please register your kids ASAP and error on the side of them attending the meet and removing them if you can't participate.
