Evan has more than a decade of coaching experience, is currently the head coach for Episcopal High School Swim Team; previously a U.S.A. swim coach for First Colony Swim Team, and teams in the Chicago area. Having served as Head Coach since 2014, Evan will continue to bring his energy and a proven record of successful coaching to our Gators. We are very happy to welcome Coach Evan back to our team for another great season!
Sarah is in her second season with the gators and is looking forward to helping our swimmers get faster and make memories! Sarah was a swimmer and runner growing up and ran track and cross country at Texas Tech University. She currently working as a 4th grade teacher in Katy. Go Gators!
Dori Mallinger is wrapping up her senior year at Seven Lakes High School. She is on the JV volleyball and soccer teams, and also plays club volleyball and dances at ABS. Dori is also a senior Girl Scout, beginning work on her Gold Award this summer. She serves the local community through the Star chapter of NCL, and especially loves her work with the Special Olympics. Dori began her swimming career as a Grand Lakes Gator when she was three years old, and has been honored to receive Most Valuable Swimmer, Gator Spirit, 110% and Sportsmanship awards during her 13 years at GLST. She has spent many hours volunteering with the six and under age group, and is excited to continue her position as an Assistant Coach.
Josh has swam since he was 7 years old in WHAT swim team and later switched to Katy aquatics. He is a varsity swimmer at Seven Lakes High School as well as a soccer player there too. Josh is a swim instructor at lifetime and of course a coach for Grand Lakes. He does private lessons throughout the summer and on weekends during the school year. This is his third year coaching and he's enjoyed every second of it. Josh loves working with kids and teaching them something he knows so much about. His goal is to improve each swimmer in even the slightest details and provide a fun atmosphere for them at the pool everyday. He looks forward to a great season with all the parents and swimmers.
Bailey Gatz is a Senior at Seven Lakes High School. She is involved in NHS, PALS, NCL, and Grace Fellowship United Methodist Church Youth Programs. This will be her second year coaching for the Gators but has been swimming her whole life and is very excited to join the GLST family.
Richard is a Junior at Seven Lakes and has been on Grand Lakes for 6 years. He is excited to begin coaching this year! Richard is an active member of his school choir and is an Eagle Scout. He loves reading and writing in his free time. His favorite stroke is Freestyle.
Becca Chang is a Junior at Seven Lakes High School, on the Varsity volleyball team and plays club volleyball at Katy United. Becca has been swimming with Grand Lakes Swim Team since she was 4 years old and is excited to begin her position as a Junior Coach this year. She serves the local community through the Star chapter of NCL and especially loves her work with CAPS. Her favorite stroke is freestyle and she looks forward to helping all the swimmers this summer.
Daniel is finishing up his Sophomore year at Seven Lakes High School. He has been swimming since he was 5 in the WHALe league and since he was 10 at Grand Lakes where he has been a 'Gator-aide' for the last 2 seasons. He has been a swimmer for Dad's Club and Power Aquatics and is currently on the Seven Lakes High School swim team as well as the school Robotics team and Engineering Society. Daniel enjoys being a camp counselor at a summer camp for children with Type 1 Diabetes and this will be his third summer to do this.
Daniel is looking forward to working with the team as a Junior Coach this summer.
Carleigh is completing her sophomore year at Fulshear High school. She has been on the Grand Lakes Swim Team the last 11 years and has been a Gator-aide for the past two years. She swam year round from 5th through 9th grade for Katy Aquatics and then Power Aquatics. She is currently swimming on the Fulshear High School varsity swim team. Carleigh is a member of the NCL Lady Bird chapter and loves volunteering at Kidz Club and Katy Christian ministries. She is very excited to be coaching this year and looks forward to a fast and fun swim season.
