Grand Lakes is proud to introduce our coaches for the 2026 season. We encourage our swimmers to get involved by inviting them to volunteer when they are 13 as Gator-Aides, helping the coaches with the 6 & Under group as well as at meets.  After that our swimmers may apply to become Junior Coaches and then on to Assistant Coaches with more experience.

ALL Coaches are Lifeguard and First Aid certified.

    Alfonso Jaime Head Coach

Hello My name is Coach AJ and I am a certified swimming aficionado... in other words I love swimming. I have participated in the sport for the last 25 years in every way imaginable including competitive swimmer, swim parent, stroke judge, starter and swim coach.

My swimming career started as a student swimmer and water polo player for Texas A&M San Antonio in 2001. After college, I began masters swimming and won several medals along the way including a gold medal in the 200 breast stroke in 2015 at the South Central Zones Meet. In the process of competing, I began my career as a swim coach for the Deerfield Dolphins in 2011 and shortly thereafter worked at the Mayde Creek Aquatics Club. After bout 7 years with the Dolphins I then moved on to the Fairfield Swim Team and Lakes on Eldrigde Swim Team over the last 4.

Currently, I am the Head Swim Coach and A World Geography Teacher at Paetow High School in Katy ISD and I am so excited to take the Lead for Grand Lakes. I look forward to another fun and competitive season... Go Gators!

    JJ Noriega Assistant Head Coach

I have been swiming with GLST for 11 years and this is my second season as a head coach. My favorite stroke is the breast stroke and I enjoy helping the kids learn it as well. I really enjoy getting to know everone and making new friends on both the Grand Lakes team and others we swim against. In my opinion the best group to teach are the 6 and unders because they are funny. In my free time I really enjoy playing backetball.

    Abby Bobinger Assistant Coach

Abby has been with the GLST for 12 years and been a coach for 2 years. Her favorite stroke is the breast stroke and enjoys getting to create relationships with the kids she coaches. Her favorite age group to coach is the 11–12s because they are at a really fun stage in swimming. They are old enough to understand technique and work hard, but they also still bring a lot of energy and excitement to practice. It’s really rewarding to help them build their skills and confidence as swimmers.

She's grown up with GLST, so it’s really special to now be able to give back as a coach. I love helping younger swimmers learn, improve, and have fun with the sport that I’ve been a part of for so long. l.
Outside of coaching swim she enjoys doing cheer.

    Macie Hartz Head GatorAide

Macie brings six years of Gators experience to her first season as a coach. A varsity swimmer at Seven Lakes with a passion for freestyle, she also stays active through club volleyball and pole vaulting.  For Macie, the most rewarding part of coaching is watching young swimmers develop their skills and grow in confidence. Though she loves working with all ages, she has a special place in her heart for the youngest members of the team. She can’t wait to hit the pool this season and see what each swimmer is capable of achieving.
