Hello Gators!

We have our last dual meet of the season. Let's all swim fast and get loud cheering for our teammates! We had a great meet on Saturday and were oh so close in points, let’s see if we can get a few more on Thursday and get a WIN! We will be swimming at the Green Trails Gators Gerri Ayers Pool at the corner of Kingsland Blvd and Crescent Gr see attachment. Parking is in the hospital lot across Kingsland. No one should park on the neighborhood streets. We are back to an evening meet starting at 6pm, gates open at 4:15. SET-UP VOLUNTEERS please be there by 4:15 as we will need to be quick in our set-up.

Few Key Things to Remember for Away Meets!

Please make sure your kids know to stay with their specific tent. We are working to run a fast efficient meet. If kids leave the tent area they may miss their swim.

Bring folding chairs for your kids and adults. If you want a place to sit your will need to bring your chair, as seating for parents not actively volunteering will be available in the grass near our tents.

Please see the attached pool layout. If you are part of the set up crew take a good look at it. It will help you understand where everything needs to go prior to meet start.

Remember there is no parking directly in front of the pool. This is drop off only. Parking is in the hospital parking lot across Kingsland – No parking in the neighborhood.

Check your volunteer assignments! We cannot put on a successful meet without support from our volunteers. If you have questions, contact Vicki, our volunteer guru! If you check in for a volunteer spot you need to show up. No shows create delays to an already long swim meet. We had people check in and not show up to their duties. Reminder this is grounds for dismissal from the team.

We cannot have a great swim season without amazing volunteers

GTST will have concessions cash or card accepted for Chick-fil-a sandwiches, Rudy's chopped beef sandwiches, pizza, candy, drinks, etc.

Our meet against GTST will take place on Thursday June 13, 2024 at their home. Our theme is _________!!

Wear your Gator gear.

Please be good visitors and show GTST our best respect and sportsmanship. Remind your swimmers to stay in their lane until everyone is finished. And make sure they say "good swim!" Our coaches will remind everyone as well. Thank you for your support in this effort.

REMINDERS FOR OUR PARENTS:

DO NOT let your swimmer wander around the meet-especially the 6 and unders.

Your swimmer MUST stay in their assigned lanes or their time & score may not be counted.

DO NOT leave before the conclusion of your swimmers' races and check out with team parent before leaving the meet.

All Teams need to set up outside the pool area. Spectators must rotate into the pool area then back to the tents after the races.

DO NOT PARK IN THE PARKING LOT UNLESS YOU ARE BOARD OR COACHES: THESE SPACES ARE RESERVED!

Please pay close attention to arrival times:

4:15 PM pool opens – set up arrives, console arrives. Please see attachment where to set up tents.

4:30 PM Swimmers and coaches arrive

5:20 – 5:50 Gator Warm Up

5:40PM Timers and Officials Meeting

5:55 National Anthem

6:00 Meet Start

Shift Change After IM during 10 Minute break

For volunteers on first shift – we will be providing food runners. Just place your order with them and provide a form of payment. They will go to the concessions table and bring you back your order. We want our volunteers to be well fed!

To review your volunteer position please go to the glswim.swimtopia.com website and click on the "My Account" tab in the right-hand corner. Sign in with your username and password.

Heat Sheets will be made available on Swimtopia: 12 hours prior to the meet.

Friday: Off – Great Meet!

The following week we will have normal practice everyone is invited to attend. Friday morning at the end of practice we will celebrate our Meet of Champions qualifiers.

Next weeks practices are at the standard times! Remember Wednesday 19, 2024 will be the date for call ups after practice. 

The week following the Meet of Champions swimmers are invited to swim. We will then send our All Star meet qualifiers off to ASM.
