Hello Gators!

We have our first away meet of the season. Let's all swim fast and get load cheering for our teammates! We had some great team spirit at our meet vs. CRSW it was a close meet and we cheered loud. Let's see if we can be louder! We will be swimming at Seven Meadows competition pool at the corner of Fry and Gaston see attachment. This is a morning meet! 6:30 am pool opens for set up!

Few Key Things to Remember for Away Meets!

Please make sure your kids know to stay with their specific tent. We are working to run a fast efficient meet. If kids leave the tent area they may miss their swim.

Bring folding chairs for your kids and adults. If you want a place to sit your will need to bring your chair. SMST is bringing 180 swimmers plus parents that is at least and additional 300+ people compared to our Blue Green meet!

Please see the attached pool layout. If you are part of the set up crew take a good look at it. It will help you understand where everything needs to go prior to meet start.

Remember there is no parking directly in front of the pool. This is drop off only. Parking is on the streets around the pool area. Do not block driveways, intersections or fire hydrants.

Check your volunteer assignments! We cannot put on a successful meet without support from our volunteers. If you have questions, contact Vicki, our volunteer guru! If you check in for a volunteer spot you need to show up. No shows create delays to an already long swim meet. We had people check in and not show up to their duties. Reminder this is grounds for dismissal from the team.

Our meet against SMST will take place on Saturday June 8, 2024 at the home. Our theme is Hawaiian!!

Wear your Gator gear.

Please be good hosts and show SMST our best respect and sportsmanship. Remind your swimmers to stay in their lane until everyone is finished. And make sure they say "good swim!" Our coaches will remind everyone as well. Thank you for your support in this effort.

REMINDERS FOR OUR PARENTS:

DO NOT let your swimmer wander around the meet-especially the 6 and unders.

Your swimmer MUST stay in their assigned lanes or their time & score may not be counted.

DO NOT leave before the conclusion of your swimmers' races and check out with team parent before leaving the meet.

All Teams need to set up outside the pool area. Spectators must rotate into the pool area then back to the tents after the races.

DO NOT PARK IN THE PARKING LOT UNLESS YOU ARE BOARD OR COACHES: THESE SPACES ARE RESERVED!

Please pay close attention to arrival times:

6:30 AM pool opens – set up arrives, console arrives. Please see attachment where to set up tents. 

7:00 AM Swimmers and coaches arrive

7:25 – 7:50 Gator Warm Up

7:45 Timers and Officials Meeting

7:55 National Anthem

8:00 Meet Start

Shift Change After Backstroke during 10 Minute break

For volunteers on first shift – we will be providing food runners. Just place your order with them and provide a form of payment. They will go to the food truck and bring you back your order. We want our volunteers to be well fed!

To review your volunteer position please go to the glswim.swimtopia.com website and click on the "My Account" tab in the right-hand corner. Sign in with your username and password.

Heat Sheets will be made available on Swimtopia: 12 hours prior to the meet.

Friday: Off – Great Meet!

The following week we will have normal practice everyone is invited to attend. Friday morning at the end of each practice we will celebrate our Meet of Champions qualifiers.

The week following the Meet of Champions swimmers are invited to swim. We will then send our All Star meet qualifiers off to ASM.
