Greetings Grand Lakes Gators,

We are a few short weeks away from our first day of practice! The coaches and the board have been working hard to prepare for the upcoming season. Please see the following updates to this seasons schedule. We have recently closed registration and accepted all swimmers on the waiting list. We still have space for swimmers 13 and up. If you have children in that age group please reach out to the board. Please remember ages 15 and up are free!

Parents Meeting - April 13, 2023 - 6:30 PM to 8:00PM

Reminder to all parents we will have a meeting on April 13th at RAE Roosevelt Alexander Elementary (RAE) to provide an overview of the season. This is required for all new parents to the team and recommended for all as a general refresher on the expectations of the season. We will review volunteer requirements, what to expect in practices and communication with the coaches and the board.

Picture Day - May 8, 2023 Save the Date

William and Mary Photography will be returning this season for our team photos. Individual photos will start at 4pm. Team photo will be at 5:30 PM. Order forms and website links will be sent soon. Be on the lookout for them.

Blue Green Meet - Date Moved to 5/17/2023

We will be moving the Blue Vs. Green intrasquad meet up one day to 5/17/2023. This is due to a conflict with the end of year parties for a few elementary schools in the area. We have some very busy kids in the katy area and are trying to accommodate all the activities.

Update on the Swim Team Pool

Many of you may have driven by the swim team pool and seen the large amount of work ongoing at the facility. The HOA and the Swim Team Board worked over the off season to get the pool replastered. This is due to the staining that was occurring causing the facility to look dirty continuously. The work is currently on track to be finished the first week in May. This will likely cause us to hold the first week of practice for the new swimmers at the Frog pool. More information will be provided as we get closer to the start of the season. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to make these improvements to the facility.

Request for Sponsorships

We continue to look for sponsorships for our Gators. These sponsorships are used to purchase things needed for our kids. In recent years we have bought fins and kickboards for use at practice. If you or your business would like to sponsor the team please reach out to the board.
